The Love of God

I am 26 years old. I graduated from college about four and a half years ago. In college I studied both business and electrical engineering specializing in wireless communications.

My mother was saved and baptized while meeting with the local church before I was born. As a result, I was raised attending the meetings and functions of the local church. As a young person in the local church I was led into the knowledge, enjoyment and love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I was taught that God loved me, even though I was a fallen sinner. He loved me to the point that He became a man to die for me (John 3:16). He did this so that I would not suffer eternal perdition, but that's not all. Through death and resurrection, He became a life-giving Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45) so that today He could be with me, and even be one with me (1 Corinthians 6:17). This wonderful Person who is both fully God and fully man (John 1:1; 1:14) has filled the void that was in my heart.

I have to testify that the more I get to know Him, the more I love Him. Like getting to know any other person, to get to know the Lord Jesus I need to spend time with Him. This is done by opening my heart to Him in prayer and in reading His word. No one who gets to know the Lord Jesus can avoid falling in love with Him. He is even Love itself (1 John 4:16).

As a young person in the local church, I know the love of God because of the way some of the older members in the church loved me. They opened their homes to me and cooked for me and took me on trips. They loved me and cared for me without reason. Looking back, I can say that these ones loved me with the love of Christ.
